Project-managing an innovation idea to fruition or, in other words building a brand is a crucial element of successful innovation. Innovation management is very different than day to day operations management. Many companies fail to innovate simply because they don’t recognize these two as different modes of operandum. Innovation-project-management is a creative process as much as analytic and research-driven. Innovation management requires, more than anything, a collaborative environment with a diverse talent pool. But it also requires an ability to make carefully crafted decisions and not leave everything to decisions by committee. That balance is the essence, really.
